We invite you to join us in celebrating the end of the exhibitions at the ZAK – Center for Contemporary Art. We want to review the times with you and say goodbye to the art summer 2021.

Our program for the finissage on September 19, 2021:

4 p.m.
Exhibition tour “Eine tropische Stimmung, nur um einiges kühler”: The artist Monika Brandmeier in conversation with Maria Weber M. A.

5 p.m.
Performance “A survey of knowledge systems” in the exhibition “feldern” with Sabine Popp (in English):

The Agential Matter (Invisible Landscapes) project deals with scientific and economic interests for the wild algae forests on the Norwegian coast. The performance is closely linked to this project and takes up the conflicts over the use of the algae. Performance and video projection are determined by the course of the scientific work on a research ship. The video cut creates gaps with silence and blackness and at the same time only preserves those doing and speaking that emphasize crucial aspects of knowledge production.

The audience becomes intimate witnesses of the handling of materials and objects on a table, while the performer’s speech is intertwined with statements from the video recordings, repeatedly questioning them with ambiguities and shifting meanings in order to make the utopia of final answers clear .

6 p.m.
Exhibition tour “feldern”: The artists in conversation with Birgit Effinger, curatorial supervision of the exhibition
