Jan Kobow, tenor | Arthur Schoonderwoerd, fortepiano
It was Johann Rudolf Zumsteeg (1760-1802) who introduced Mozart’s operas to the city of Stuttgart. And with his own ballads for voice and fortepiano, he prepared the way for Franz Schubert (1797-1828) and Carl Loewe (1796-1869), who each put their personal stamp on this particular repertoire. Come experience drama, absurdity, and heartbreak, as sung by Berlin’s own Jan Kobow, with Arthur Schoonderwoerd accompanying on a historic fortepiano.
