Love songs are timeless, having been around since Adam tried to figure out exactly what was going on with Eve. It is also a well-known fact that love songs flower abundantly in the spring. In this program, old and new settings of the same poems are juxtaposed: English lute songs of the 17th century are presented alongside pieces by composers of the 20th century. Spanning 370 years, these songs all have one thing in common: they extol the joys of love in the springtime. Let yourself be smitten!
