Over the summer months, Michael Hischer’s kinetic large-scale sculptures turn the historic site of the citadel into an outdoor art space. 20 selected works from a multi-year cycle will be shown.<\/p>\n

They are designed for the outside space, because only the wind moves them and reveals their essence as kinetic sculptures. The movement of its elements is entirely left to chance due to the action of the weather. In this way, time is inscribed in the sculptures and can be experienced not only as three-dimensional, but four-dimensional objects.<\/p>\n

With Michael Hischer, nature and technology, order and chaos come together as complementary opposites and find their expression in the varied play of his reduced-form kinetic sculptures. Movement, balance, but also lightness are her central themes, “decelerating and slowing down her essence”. By consciously placing the objects on the site of the citadel, visitors are invited to set themselves in motion and experience art in the field of tension between nature, historical architecture and their own point of view.<\/p>\n
