The artists focus on the construction and deconstruction of ideas and concepts of space. In their site-specific works, they investigate the interrelation between space and time.

Claudia Busching structures the sequence of the long corridors of the Old Barracks over a length of around 80 metres by linear arrangements of black bamboo poles. The result is a walk-through continuum of loose arrangements and selective condensations. Pomona Zipser creates a space-filling abstract wooden sculpture that is sensitively balanced between firmness and fragility. A monumental neon work by the English sculptor Andrew Stonyer develops an irritating interplay of sculptural form and its visual dissolution.

Time as a constant of perception plays a central role in the three-dimensional space. The installations are complemented by exemplary sculptural and graphic works by the artists.

With the kind support of the district promotion fund of the Senate Administration for Culture and Europe.

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”7436″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]

Ill.: Andrew Stonyer, Timepiece, 2010, „Kinetica“, P3 London, Neon tubes in polycarbonate sleeves, electronic components

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator color=”black” border_width=”3″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”633″ img_size=”285×285″ alignment=”center”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]

Location

Zentrum für Aktuelle Kunst // Alte Kaserne

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”6456″ img_size=”285×285″ alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator color=”black” border_width=”3″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Veranstaltungen

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text] Claudia Busching, Andrew Stonyer, Pomona Zipser 18.1.2020 – 2. 8. 2020 Center for Contemporary Art, Gallery ground floor The exhibition “Not only in Space, but also in Time” combines the sculptural approaches of three sculptors into a three-dimensional space of experience consisting of sculpture, light installation and drawing.
