The real images and imaginations are based on our human knowledge: nature cannot be used indefinitely without being damaged. Human-made climate change has long proven it in its diverse effects, such as rising sea levels or water shortages in many parts of the world due to global warming.

Antonia Bisig lets her large-format drawings float “counted” sensually from the ceiling into the room, despite the apparent lightness of the work, laden with heavy content. In all of her works shown here, her powerful message is: water is not negotiable.

Doris Hinzen-Röhrig dedicates herself to the threatened ecosystem of the world’s oceans in her image arrangements of drawings and smaller photographs, with a focus on dying coral reefs. Her works oscillate between aesthetic exaggeration and questioning.

Silvia Sinha’s photographs reveal ambivalence in our emotional relationship with water: We feel drawn to its natural beauty; find it refreshing and calming; we fear it and we need it. Either way, water deserves our responsible use.

.

With the kind support of the district promotion fund of the Senate Administration for Culture and Europe

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”9725″ img_size=”large”][vc_column_text]

Ill.: Antonia Bisig, Doris Hinzen-Röhrig und Silvia Sinha: Collage „not for sale“ © VG Bild-Kunst: Antonia Bisig, Doris Hinzen-Röhrig und Silvia Sinha

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_empty_space height=”16px”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator color=”black” border_width=”3″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”633″ img_size=”285×285″ alignment=”center”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text]

Location

ZAK Center for Contemporary Art // Old Barracks

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”6456″ img_size=”285×285″ alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_separator color=”black” border_width=”3″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]

Events

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text] ANTONIA BISIG DORIS HINZEN-RÖHRIG SILVIA SINHA Group exhibition 11.9.2020 – 2.5.2021 Center for Contemporary Art, project room In the interplay of drawings and photographs, the exhibition not for sale combines three positions on the subject of “water”.
