Spectacular Spandau

The Spandau City History Museum is located in the Arsenal. The permanent exhibition on the ground floor gives you an overview of the history of Spandau. More than 300 items describe the settlement and development of this city on the river Havel, which has only been part of Berlin since 1920. Among the highlights are objects representative of the local industry in the 1920s, a roadworthy Hudson Essex and a collection of historical Siemens small electrical appliances. Props from the film studio which was once located here and an original recipe book belonging to an old established family of bakers are popular items with visitors.

In the Gothic House in Spandau’s Old Town you will find more information about the history of Spandau.
