On November 2nd, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. there will be a tour of the two exhibitions “Abstract in Disco” by Henriette Grahnert and Christopher Winters “Archipelago of the Mind” at the ZAK. The artists are present and in a lively conversation they give insights into their individual working methods as well as into the stories behind their works.

As an artist belonging to the third generation of the “Neue Leipziger Schule”, Henriette Grahnert masterfully combines representational elements with abstract elements in small and large-format paintings. Despite the highly elaborate creation process, the pictures testify to a confident nonchalance.

With his gestural style, Christopher Winter creates scenes on the periphery between dream and reality and takes the viewer on a journey through personal mythologies to art-historical references that are always located between joyful affirmation and subtle criticism.
