“These are strange times, and strange things are happening,” writes the Italian philosopher Rosi Braidotti.
As part of the workshop “hop-on-hop-off stops of life” we invite girls*women (of all ages) to a joint tour through the exhibitions “Fragile Formations”, “Figure. No Figure. X” and “Train Lines” at ZAK – Center for Contemporary Art. In the confrontation with the exhibition objects, own impressions will be recorded through creative writing under the aspects of movement, corporeality, identity and transformation processes, and individual experiences will be reflected in relation to localization in spaces that are subject to constant change. These include urban, social, and/or digital spaces.
In “Nomadic Subjects” (2011), the philosopher Rosi Braidotti opposes the idea of fixed role models or dominant formations and forms a common point of reference for the artists Gloria Zein, Eva Berendes and Heike Gallmeier. In our workshop, we take up this concept and also look at the works of Anja Billing, Paola Neumann, Salome Haettenschweiler and Verena Schirz-Jahn. In addition, Benjamin Kunath’s works show how social observations can be transferred from the inner momentum into a mind map and recorded on paper.
/ The workshop requires no prior knowledge and is designed to be open to all interested parties.
/ For girls*women only, any age
/ The course language is German, bilingual (German-English, German-Russian, German-German sign language) possible on request.
/ Meeting point at the gatehouse in the entrance area of the Citadel
/ Duration: approx. 120 minutes
Registration required! Registration by email by 9.3.2022 at the latest.
