On December 6 and 7, 2025, the Spandau School of Music will present the musical fairy tale “The Town Musicians of Bremen” in the Italian Courtyards of the Spandau Citadel.
All children, parents, and story-reading grandparents know this fairy tale from the collection of the Brothers Grimm. In this musical theatre production, each of the four animals is given its own specially composed signature melody. You can hear the sneaking cat, the limping dog, the dignified elderly donkey, and the hysterically screaming rooster.
The Saint Nicholas Concert is a joint project of the Children’s Orchestra and the Youth Plus Orchestra under the direction of Martín Rincón Botero. Thanks to the dedicated work and planning of Dorothee Witt and Petra Prieß, the Saint Nicholas Concert has been a free cultural offering for the whole family for many years. The stage roles are performed by the orchestra children themselves.
