Artist Tour | With Simone Zaugg through “Urban Reflections” and with Pfelder through “gold”

ZAK – Center for Contemporary Art

Thursday 20.11.2025 6.00 p.m. - 8.00 p.m.

Artist tour with exhibition curators Dr. Ralf F. Hartmann and Dr. Jens-Ole Rey.

Join Simone Zaugg on a journey of discovery through her exhibition Urban Reflections. The exhibition project explores the city with its urban “images” and public space as a metaphor, medium, and matrix for current, socially relevant developments. Through specific interventions in the spatial situations of the ZAK, Urban Reflections creates installative microcosms that invite viewers to engage constructively in a dialogue with art and thus—similar to an adventure playground—to continue building their own reality.

With Pfelder, we visit gold, his participatory spatial installation for the ZAK Center for Contemporary Art, which invites visitors to lend a hand or foot and kick as part of an artistic work. Like in a sports hall, the gallery space becomes a place of athletic and intellectual exercise, regardless of whether pillars stand in the way or goals can only be hit from the side. Flanked by site-specific perimeter advertising, the ZAK becomes the venue for multi-layered competitions in the field of tension between public funding and artistic precariousness.
