In conversation with curator Ralf F. Hartmann, sculptor Simon P. Schrieber leads us through his exhibition Bildhauerei.Und Anderes. Schrieber places the human figure at the center of his artistic work. In monumental marble and wood sculptures, bronzes and plasters, he searches beyond naturalistic depiction for idealized and artistically exaggerated images of the human. In doing so, he takes the greatest care with the sculptural surfaces and masterfully works out the characteristics of the different materials.
