Guided Tour | From the Salt Yard of the Gunpowder Factory to the New Development Area

Exploring Spandau

Sunday 7.6.2026 2.00 p.m. - 3.00 p.m.

Join us in exploring the historical traces in the Waterkant development area: At the corner of Am Havelgarten and Rhenaniastraße, the barracks of Siemens’ largest forced-labor camp in Berlin still stand. A few meters further on, behind the Daumstraße/Rhenaniastraße bus stop, stand the ruins of the old powder factory. And where housing for over 6,000 people has been under construction since 2020, Shell’s tanks once stood, which also contained parts of the so-called Senate reserves.

The event is part of the project “Remember, Explore, Engage – A Journey of Discovery in the Waterkant Development Area.”
