The gate house is the only entrance to the Citadel. In earlier times the commander lived on the upper floor. He managed the fortress and commanded the soldiers that were stationed here. Therefore the building is still called Commander’s House. Today you can find here an exciting exhibition and also the way to the Julius Tower.
