Soldiers had to train marching lock-step again and again. Another word for marching lock-step is to parade. Usually the soldiers paraded outside, but when it rained they exercised in this hall to prevent getting their uniforms wet. Today this building hosts some old canons which were stationed here to defend the Citadel in the past.
