Art historian Dr. Wita Noack (Mies van der Rohe House Berlin) talks to artist Margareta Hesse.
Dr. Wita Noack (*1959 in Bautzen) studied engineering and cultural studies, building research and monument conservation and received her doctor from the Technical University of Berlin in 2007. Since 1992 she has been director of the Mies van der Rohe Haus Berlin, the last private house built by Mies before his emigration to the USA. She is an author, curator and lecturer specialising in modern and contemporary art, modern architecture, Bauhaus and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. She was board member of the Saxony-Anhalt Arts Foundation until 2019 and has written numerous exhibition texts for contemporary artists and artist monographs. As a curator, she has conceived important exhibitions, including at the Architekturforum Zürich and the Meisterhäuser in Dessau. She is the editor of numerous publications, including over 40 exhibition catalogues, eight editions of the Mies van der Rohe Haus series and artist monographs. Wita Noack lives and works in Berlin.
