Guided Tour | PENETRAÇÃO PACÍFICA – Germans in Angola

ZAK – Center for Contemporary Art

Saturday 24.10.2026 3.00 p.m. - 4.00 p.m.

The targeted emigration to Angola never involved an overt territorial claim, but it was directly and indirectly encouraged by the German Colonial School in Witzenhausen, secret agreements between England and Germany, corporate headquarters, colonial associations, and ultimately even by post-war West German policies. The exhibition presents this part of German-Angolan history from multiple perspectives, giving voice to a wide range of different viewpoints.

Julia Schreiner is Director of the Goethe-Institut Angola and a member of the research team. She will guide visitors through the exhibition and will be available for questions and discussions.
