Immerse yourself in Spandau’s turbulent era of protest. In the 1970s and 1980s, local residents and young people stood up against environmental destruction and misguided political planning through squatting in buildings and occupying woodland. This guided tour takes you to the key sites of resistance: the successful campaign to prevent the felling of the Spandau Forest for a planned large-scale power station, the occupation of Gatow Heath, and the building occupations of 1981. Discover Spandau’s rebellious side through tactile models, moving video interviews with eyewitnesses, and protest songs.
